What is the vineyard?
The Vineyard USA is a movement of churches across the United States (and thousands globally). Founded in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Vineyard grew out of a desire to see historical, biblical Christianity paired with a vibrant, expectant experience of the Holy Spirit today. We often describe ourselves as "Empowered Evangelicals." We hold tightly to orthodox Christian belief and the authority of the Bible, while eagerly inviting the presence, gifts, and healing power of the Holy Spirit into our daily lives.
As a Vineyard church, our identity is built around five central priorities:
The Kingdom of God: We believe Jesus came introducing God's Kingdom bringing dynamic spiritual, physical, and relational healing. We pray expectantly for God’s power to break into our present world.
Intimate Worship: Vineyard worship is known for being accessible, authentic, and heart focused. We sing to God rather than just about Him, inviting His presence into our gatherings.
Partnering with the Holy Spirit: We believe every believer is empowered by the Holy Spirit. We regularly practice "praying for one another" without hype, manipulation, or emotionalism.
Compassionate Ministry & Reconciliation: Jesus moved toward the poor, the marginalized, and the broken. We strive to be healing communities that actively pursue racial, cultural, and social reconciliation.
Culturally Relevant Mission: We believe the Gospel should be communicated in plain, accessible language without unnecessary religious jargon or cultural barriers.
Our core Values
Why Now?
"Rejoining Vineyard USA feels like coming home, as our church’s heart, worship, and practice have remained rooted in this same kingdom identity since our early Vineyard roots prior to 2000. Our central values naturally line up around worship that seeks genuine intimacy with Jesus, prayer that expectantly invites the Holy Spirit’s power for physical and relational healing, and mission that carries God’s compassionate love to our local community and beyond. By officially reconnecting with the movement, we are simply stepping back into a broader family that shares our exact passion to see the Gospel lived out naturally, authentically, and powerfully." - Pastor Liam
