Meet Sara

Hello, I’m Sara! I’ve called Heartland home base since I was young, and even met and married my high school sweetheart here nearly 30 years ago! We now have three wonderful daughters, a bonus son, and a house full of small pets. Over the years, I have spent countless hours volunteering and serving in various church ministries, spent a few years on the mission field when I was young, began leading worship when I was 12, and have traveled around the world on various missions trips. For fun, I sing with the Philharmonic Chorus,  teach part time at a small micro-school, and love paint-by-numbers!

To me, walking with Jesus means learning to work with him, moment by moment, to lift up others. It means cultivating a heart of respect and honor towards the Lord, the people he breathed life into, and the earth he created. It means that the words I use about people, and the way I see and treat people, matter a great deal. It means leaving time and space to respond with God’s love to the person who is right in front of me, whether that is at home, at work, out and about in my daily life, or interacting with people on the other side of the world. Living in God’s kingdom means working together so everyone thrives!

Financing kingdom work is another great way to lift others up! Although there are only so many hours in the day, giving allows me to have a greater kingdom impact by helping others do what they are called to do!. It brings me great joy to intentionally support the work of others, and I look forward to the day when the kingdom of God is fully realized here on earth!
