What is heartland doing to support North Side?

Heartland believes that loving and supporting the schools in our neighborhood and city is an important way we can demonstrate the transformative power of the Good News. We want to be a church that doesn’t just talk about loving our community, but actively shows up and serves it.

Here’s how we’re doing that:

  1. Real Talk
    We have partnered with Youth for Christ to create space for honest conversations with students about real-life issues, challenges, and questions.

  2. After Hours

    We have created a mobile hangout for high school students to have authentic conversations and make friends.

  3. Supporting Staff
    Praying for the teachers, administrators, and staff who pour into students each day. We are also working on building relationships with the staff and admin team to build trust and meet simple needs.

  • Pray for school leadership as they navigate changes and establish a clear vision for the future. Pray for administrators wisdom, unity, and discernment as they make decisions that help students, staff, and the school community thrive.

  • Pray for students experiencing anxiety, loneliness, stress, or difficult circumstances. Pray they would be surrounded with caring, trusted adults and a school environment where every student feels safe, valued, and supported.

  • Pray for students who lack food, school supplies, or other essentials. Pray for provision for these needs and guide school staff and community partners as they work to ensure every student feels supported and ready to learn.
