Dear Heartland Family,

It’s been a tumultuous year for all of us in many ways. For those of us who have school-aged children, the last few months have been complex and challenging. Parents, please know that I am praying for you as you navigate the disappointments, pain and uncertainty that still hang in the air regarding schooling for your child(ren) in the Fall.

For years, we’ve been dreaming of starting a school that is oriented towards strengthening families and welcoming the Holy Spirit to work powerfully in the classroom; a school that is focused on the arts and creativity; a school that doesn’t have any ties to the government or any entity that has the authority to dictate from a distance what happens in the classroom; a school that gives families options on how long their child(ren) are away each day; a school with tailored curriculum for each student and a school that is deeply ingrained in the life of a church that loves our neighbors and goes to and receives the nations. In the midst of this tumultuous time, that dream is coming to fruition. And I believe it’s for such a time as this.

Streams of Hope Christian Academy is all set to begin on August 10 for students in grades 1-12. Janet Willig, our head teacher, has been processing applications, interviewing students and doing individual academic assessments. We have an incredible leadership team assembled who is ready to pour their lives into students. In addition to the morning educational curriculum, we have great afternoon classes lined up that focus on the arts, faith and life skills. Our pastoral team is excited for weekly chapel services and engaging with the students during the week as well.

We are limiting enrollment for our first year to 40 students. We already have about half of those spots reserved and are getting new inquiries every week. If you are exploring options for your children’s schooling in the Fall, I encourage you to reach out ASAP. Below you will find the information for our first Open House on June 14th. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Streams of Hope and ask questions. If you are interested in enrolling your child(ren) but don’t feel you can afford the tuition, please reach out to me directly. We have some creative financial aid ideas that I’m happy to explore with you.

Finally, I encourage you to help spread the word about Streams of Hope! It could be sharing the info with your friends or family, helping spread the word on social media, or inviting others to our Open House. Please also be praying with us as we make the final preparations. Thank you for your partnership as, together, we pour into the lives of our children.

Pastor Dave
