| What is the most important healing story in your life that you want to tell to encourage other people? | |
| What was wrong? | I was getting paid a healthy sum of money to do, what I felt, I was created to do. However, when I stepped up, for the right reasons, I stepped on the wrong toes. I became collateral damage of a political cou. My former allies turned their backs on me and my contract was not renewed. There was barely an explanation and I was denied the opportunity to ask for or make any clarifications. The decision was final and all of the scars of previous wounds were ripped open and bleeding profusely. The rejection set off a state of confusion and depression. I knew that I couldn’t continue living in that town, but it was February, my son had 3 months left to go in high school and I had a house to sell before I could escape and return to the homeland of Indiana. I didn’t have enough faith in myself to move somewhere unfamiliar, so I started looking for housing in my hometown of Muncie. My brother and his family were there and it was safe, supportive and familiar. It was “home base,” I had started and restarted there. |
| What did God do? | God needed to remind me that things had also stopped there too. In Muncie, every house deal was blocked and every art position filled by someone else. Then God sent me to my best friend’s house in Fort Wayne and gave me an unexpected and much needed vacation that helped me regroup and begin to heal. He opened wide a door for my son to start college in Fort Wayne, I sold the house in Kentucky and rented a house, just four blocks from the house we left 15 years earlier, before purchasing one near my best friend. I had been looking for a church to call home when I was invited to attend a vineyard church in Indianapolis. I had an unforgettable, undeniable God experience there, which led me to Heartland Church, my home. |
| What’s changed in you or in your life as a result? | God has continued to provide me with the means necessary to sustain my life and surrounded me with HIS anointed people of Heartland Church, to grow along side of and share this life with. I am forever grateful for being grafted onto this vine of authentic Godly people that includes artists, musicians and writers! I continue to grow like I never have before! The scars of the past injuries remain visable although they are shrinking and I even experience the irritants occasionally, but they might just be necessary reminders that Jesus is always there turning what irritates, into pearls as He simultaneously heals. I know He is able, I only have to ask and wait in faith, for His timing. |
