| What is the most important healing story in your life that you want to tell to encourage other people? | |
| What was wrong? | Our infant son passed away, our home was foreclosed on, we were attacked by strangers on the internet after our son’s death, my father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and passed away within 6 weeks of diagnosis and 15 months after our son passed away. |
| What did God do? | The Lord surrounded me and my family in his love. He held me tight as I kicked and screamed and questioned His goodness. He allowed me to question Him, yet didn’t let me wander off the path. He held me close and bound up my wounds over the course of 5-8 years. He restored what was lost- he gave us another son 15 months after losing Joshua. Time and time again, he has used the lessons I have learned about who God is through ministering to others who are suffering. He has redeemed our pain and suffering by healing our broken hearts- we are still sad that our son is not here, but it’s not without hope. |
| What’s changed in you or in your life as a result? | I have recognized that God is bigger and better than I could have imagined. He has used our sorrow to bring others to a saving relationship with Christ. He used Joshuas’s tiny broken heart to heal mine- finding freedom from abusive relationships, anxiety, and crippling fear. Above all, He showed and proved Himself to be good, trustworthy and merciful which has deepened my love for Him and has strengthened my faith in Him. -Jill Haskins |
