Low sun, sleepy sun
Sharing image, likeness to the SON,
Mirrors on the lake, a light in the darkness.
Yes, Autumn has come, it’s time to go within.
Green reluctantly expires to a burst of rich,
deep, and fiery hues.
The birds faintly sing the end of summer
melodies, as they hushedly fade into the
quiet night.
Squirrel scurrying about frantically
preparing for the approaching winter’s sting.
Mr. Fish makes makes one last triumphant
leap before sinking
down
down
down
Ripples expand, soul turns inward.
God is here upon this land.
Slumbering earth, season of ceasing.
Redeemed soul; ain’t no grave gonna
hold this body down.
Last fragrances of summer melds with
crunchy leaves and earthworm.
Golden hour elegance; a glorious infusion of
gold imprinted against my eyes to behold
the Impending cover of nightfall’s blanket.
Acorns adorn the path beneath my
feet, forcing me to slow down.
Weighty walnuts plopping down to
earth making a hollow
thud
thud
thud
Honking gaggle of geese wildly in flight
through the now sleeping sun.
Still water, lily pads sinking, soon to be
frozen in time.
Seasons change and the great wheel turns.
The earth sleeps but His promises live.
He does not change but He makes
all things new.
