Gemstones

Every gemstone in its natural state possesses unique qualities
that differentiate it from a common stone.
The innate structure residing within was created solely by chemical elements
reacting to the prevailing conditions.

We, too, are like gemstones;
when the exterior is honed away,
our natural facets and flaws become exposed.
Every facet offers a different perspective depending upon the position
of the observer at a given moment.

The events of our lives cut and polish us, but it’s not until we allow His light
to shine through us that our true beauty is revealed.
We are uniquely and perfectly created with distinct intricacies.
Even though similarities exist, individuality is endless.

How the jewel is perceived hinges on the conditions and attitudes
of the observer, making perceptions just as individual as the gemstone itself.

When we’re in the shadows,
the truth is eclipsed.
When we are in His light,
we reflect the truth.

“For God, who said, “Let brilliant light shine out of darkness,” is the one who has cascaded his light into us — the brilliant dawning light of the glorious knowledge of God as we gaze into the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6 TPT).

Please pray with me.

Father, help us to realize that everyone is a unique and complex being, comprised of many facets that You created.  Help us to understand each other more completely and love each other more deeply.

Have you ever pledged to read through the Bible in one year? What happened when you reached the book of Leviticus? (Be honest, you are among friends now.) It is a book full of requirements and prescriptions. Doesn’t exactly keep you on the edge of your seat like Noah...
