Heartland family,
Every day is bringing a fresh set of challenges, but also wonderful opportunities for each one of us to show the love of Jesus to our families, friends and neighbors. As we all continue to adapt to new government mandates, including the new “Stay At Home” order, I want to give a couple quick updates on how Heartland is responding.
Heartland @ Home – Streaming Worship Service
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Facebook Live streaming service, Heartland @ Home. I know not everyone is on Facebook, so we will also continue to post the sermon from the service on our website, podcast and the Heartland App. We will continue streaming Heartland @ Home on Sundays at 10am. We will start the live stream at 9:50am to give everyone 10 minutes to find the stream on our Facebook page, engage in online fellowship and prepare for worship. If you aren’t yet connected to our Facebook page, you can click on this link: https://www.facebook.com/heartlandfw/.
Mid Week Prayer & Communion
We previously announced that our pastoral team would be gathered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at specific times to pray for you, bless you and serve communion. With the governor’s new Stay At Home order, I feel it’s best to postpone Midweek Prayer & Communion until that order has expired. Please feel free to contact me (dave@heartlandfw.org) if you need prayer or any kind of pastoral care. It’s such an honor and privilege to be able to pray with you, bless you and serve you communion.
Food Pantry
Our food pantry is still open on Sundays @ 5pm and prepared to help meet people’s needs. If you need assistance that our food pantry is not equipped to meet, please reach out to our office by calling 260-483-1770. If we can’t meet the need directly, we may know of other organizations that are best equipped to help.
This is a time when we all need each other. Physical health is very important, but so is our emotional and spiritual health. Each one of you has a call to minister to one another. I love hearing about all the ways people at Heartland are taking initiative and reaching out to pray and care for each other. I believe one of the best things we can do during this time is to ask the Holy Spirit a question like this, “Who do You want me to touch base with today?”. One of the things God is doing right now is teaching us in deeper ways how to minister to each other, even if we can’t be in the same room.
Thank you all for your love, care, concern and prayers. We’re in this together! I can’t wait until we can all be in the same room again. In the meantime, my prayer is that all of us can learn what God wants to teach us, look for how He’s moving and join in His redemptive work.
