A Silent Cry

A silent cry shatters the crystal
A silver tear stands frozen
On the icy remains of a soul

What happened?
Why the cold echo of nothingness?

The ghost of memory haunts non-beings
Aching sorrow shows through dead eyes
A flicker of feeling wanders through the vast emptiness
Searching for substance
Finding none.

A long time ago, far from now
Creation sang as flowers unfolded
Love, like a single, silver drop
Fell on a soul, and transfigured
Beauty to glory. Glorified, yet not redeemed
The soul shriveled as the drop slipped past.

Today, in confusion and pain,
A tear drops into the soul
A single, silver tear – liquid love
Sprouts within the soul – beautiful,
Redeemed and now,
