About Heartland Church

Heartland Church Fort Wayne

Ron and Carolyn Allen moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana in the winter of 1985 to plant a new church. From our first Sunday, March 18, 1985, the church had a focus on intimate worship, Biblical teaching and a belief that the Holy Spirit was still at work in the church to bring healing and restoration to every part of our lives. Over 220 people gathered that first Sunday. Within a couple of years, due to Ron and Carolyn’s long relationship with John Wimber, the church became Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Fort Wayne and Ron joined the national leadership team of the Association of Vineyard Churches.

Over the following years we became a region resource center for both the Vineyard and the larger church in the area. Ron was the regional overseer or bishop for the Midwest Region and helped young pastors plant churches throughout the Midwest and Great Lakes for several years. Over 100 churches were added to the region during this time. Ron was also active with Vineyard Music and we were instrumental in many album releases. We were also involved with many international ministry trips around the world with John Wimber, to see the whole church renewed and to help others around the world to be healed and to grow in their commitment to Jesus Christ.

Over the years we have maintained our values and have seen many people healed and set free to become healthy members of the Body of Christ. We consider Heartland Church a safe place where you can come and be refreshed with intimate worship, receive ministry for healing and restoration and be equipped to move in your ministry for the Lord.
